i suggest getting rid of the gallery ratings

they're pointless (unless there's some prize i don't know about). a submitter learns nothing from a numerical rating and the rating has become an excuse not to make a comment.

i agree. comments are interesting, to say the very least, and that's originally why i wanted the scoring dumped (as it seemed to be an excuse for not commenting).

hm, there seems to be something that could be the box where cone can enter the comments. That's Firefox 2.0.0.1

if you want to just turn everything back on until you figure it out, it's fine with me. this was really just a minor thing to me. i just thought it would be better if people made comments rather than just scores (after all, you can't tell from just a score if someone is a nitwit, or if they actually have a good point of view).
