I'm a CompSci Freshman, so I'm unbelievably ignorant about those small electronics. :) But I'm in Digital Tech this semester and I have to do some lab reports.

I need a way to put very simple logic gates / circuits into OpenOffice. I don't need different colors, complicated codes, or anything like that. Anyone have any ideas?

OpenOffice.org Draw looks promising - is there an add-on to add logic gates to the available shapes?

The Dia Diagram Editor has a sheet of logic gate bits. You can draw stuff there and export it as jpeg.

I second ktechlab. It could riival electronics workbench.. almost. It simulates circuits as well. Oregano is okay.

you dont need kde for ktechlab just look in synaptic

I installed Dia the other day and KTechLab today and both look to be what I'm looking for, but I think I'll stick with KTechLab - I don't know why, but it just seems to do more of what I'm wanting easier.

It'd be nice if it outputted waveforms too, but that's being pretty picky on my part. :)
