Does anybody know if there are any good Linux golf games out there, and if so, where I can find them? Playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour is about the only thing on Windows that I miss.

Thanks, that's not bad, I was kind of looking for a full golf game though, not mini-golf, but it's better than nothing.

Yup, NeverGolf is a pretty good game...

A little hard on some levels though.

mets isnt talking about some crappy mini putt putt game but rather a GOLF game. There is a difference. But anyway...Ive looked for one a while back and never found one. Id say you should look at using wine to play a windows golf game. Ive never played Nevergolf and I couldnt find it using google just then. Is it a golf game or a putting game?

I was looking more for something that slim mentioned, but I'll take Nevergolf. I too, however, couldn't find it, and a Google search of nevergolf + 3d returned only two results, both in German. Do you have a link?

It's actually called NeverPutt. It's related the the game Neverball and should be in the repositories.

Worst-case, you could try this (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Kids-Starter-Bundle-Wii/dp/B0009VXBAQ/sr=8-1/qid=1171167131/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0756339-2483360?ie=UTF8&s=videogames)...

I think there is a trial version you can download somewhere to see how it runs.

there must be some golf games on the various ROMs for Nintendo emulators... (of course legal only if you own the original game)

Your best bet would probably to get something like Links or Tiger Woods working via wine.

Have heard from others WINE doesn't work well with any recent releases of TGW golf. You can use Cedega, but it costs $5/mo.

you could try real golf.

Cedega is free if you compile it yourself, i've read that a few times, the last was in Linux Format. you might even find a precompiled deb

this might be the free one, so you don't have to pay, i'm not sure though -

i read a bit about it and it's an older version. i read about here, under Downloading from CVS and Notes: -

In my experience, neither the original LinksLS nor Links LS 98 work under wine. I haven't bothered with my copy of TW 2k6, since it struggles slightly under windows and I have an ATi card. In any case, I doutb it will work, due to the anti-copy features found in TW2k6's disc 3.

However, now I have to rant. I don't understand why the Tiger Woods AI can suck so much on a 80 metres pitch and then sink 15m putts from outer space. And that is on Top difficulty and against legends. Oh, yes, and they suck at chipping and approaching so badly I'm actually better on Real Life TM.

If anyone else is interested in a golf game for linux, the best way to go seems to be to use a Playstation 2 emulator, which can be downloaded here (http://www.getdeb.net/app/PCSX2).

The hottest golf game these days seems to be Tiger Woods PGA Tour (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Woods_PGA_Tour_09), and the most recent edition is available for PS2, as is Hot Shots Golf Fore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everybody%27s_Golf_4).

Good luck!
