View Full Version : Ubuntu-lover needs prayer

February 9th, 2007, 10:28 PM
I am bashing my head against a brick wall. My new laptop is minimally installed with Windows XP. I should've deleted it when I got Ubuntu installed on it (that was not easy). Windows needs antivirus and stuff, so I paid for McAfee. Now McAfee won't update because it wants me to use IE7, and I can't get it downloaded, because I use Firefox. The obvious answer is to uninstall Windows and ask McAfee for a refund.
And now my Ubuntu won't recognise my wireless network any more!

I can get help from the local LUG, but a few prayer requests would be very helpful and cheering.

thanks folks

dude..I'm sending yah a big Hail Mary prayer from across the pond, since that what seems appropriate at this point. How does the saying go ...stiff upper lip?

you can use firefox to download ie7, then use it to update your mcafee. my advice is to ditch mcafee and use a free antivirus such as avg or avast. may the LORD be with you, Harry
