Hello,

I am running a fresh installation of Edgy Eft. I installed gtkwifi 1.06 via synaptic. When I start up gtkwifi I get disconnected from my current connection and I can only see a small subset of the available networks. My machine is a thinkpad t42p and my wireless card is an Atheros AR5212. I am going to attempt shortly to install gtkwifi 1.10 because this application, if it worked, would be so much better than the clunky network manager provided.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
drewshaver

So I have downloaded the new version (1.10) and it exhibits better behavior but still does not work. Now I can see the real list of networks available however when I try to connect to one I always get back DHCP failed. Any ideas?

download and try wifi-radar or wifiradar :D its great works perfect for me and also you need to set up the network sometimes i had to, try enetring your own ip and channel etc etc

Thanks! As far as I can tell, wifi-radar works perfectly. I do wish it sat in a panel like gtk though.
