Would you use a package manager on which you can also buy commercial software?

You bet I would. Make it easy for people to get what they need, what's not to love.

If knew back before I started using Ubuntu that I could get commercial software for linux, I might have looked into linux a lot sooner. I still rely on commercial software to get work done. My transition to all FOSS is coming in stages. And there are still projects that are not ready for prime time yet. So until then, I still need some non-FOSS software.

Hello,

Maybe, a little explanation of the CNR acronym could be helpful for newbies.

By the way, I am moving this thread to the Reposories and Backports Forum, which might be more appropriate to the topic.

Have a nice day.

What's with these poll options?

Isn't it possible that someone could use CNR, know why, and not think it will make more companies write software for Linux? Or that someone could not want to use CNR, know why, and not have it have anything to do with supporting proprietary software?
