In this thread (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=20381) it was announced that there would be a Breezy mascot competition and that winner would be announced "on Saturday, April 30th".
What happened? Did I miss the annoucement of the winner? Or are they going to wait until the year 2011, the next April 30th that falls on a Saturday? Did they forget? Are they still debating which one is the winner?

To be honest i prefer the human look and feel, people have this aww cute badger thought. Obviously you have never cornered a badger before. Nasty lil critters have been known to chase rotwilers off.
Only an evil badger is not welcoming :D

well if you train one to drink whiskey and like, fetch your newspaper, there you have a non nasty critter.

That was just another entry, (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=27941) not the secret winner that they didn't tell anyone about.

I'm sure, the badger (if there will be a winning mascot some day) is not intended to replace the human theme. It should serve as developer mascot, nothing more. I think, in the final version of Ubuntu 5.10 you will not see it, at least not in a very prominent place, like default login screen or default desktop background. This is, because some people (certainly not me) might think it to be too childish to have a funny/cute/nasty animal on their desktop.
As a reply to simple:
Like hazza96 already wrote: These CD covers have been made by me, and I am not the secret winner, and will most propably never be. I just posted the CD covers and some wallpapers, starring my suggestion for the breezy mascot, on gnome-look.org to reach also some people not following this (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=27941) forum. You can also find them here (http://ubuntuforums.org/gallery/browseimages.php?do=member&imageuser=16002) in the art gallery.
