View Full Version : Re-adding support dropped in 6.1

I think this is the right place for this (since it is a backporting quesiton).

I have a Dell CERC Raid controller (LSI i4) which is no longer supported in the 'new' 6.1 drivers (megaraid_mbox, megaraid).

It was supported in the 6.06 driver (used the megaraid.ko driver).

What would it take for someone (not me, though) to recompile a new driver which had the 6.06 support so that I can use my RAID array?

The 6.1 version of Ubuntu supports my motherboard and other hardware (AM2) much better than 6.06, so sticking with 6.06 isn't really an option.

From my non-Linux experience, this doesn't seem to be a tremendous challenge, so I'm not sure what I'm missing or don't understand.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew
