forums are case sensitive?

i recently asked a question about IPA fonts after searching and turning up nothing on the forums. for some unknown reason, to check if my question had been answered, i later typed "linguists" in lowercase instead of capital L. a bit of experimenting proved that my question had already been answered, making me feel a little stupid... but i'm curious if it is possible to enable "non-case-sensitive" searches by default? there doesn't seem to be a check box under options, but i'm sure there must be some way to do this.

I find the ubuntu forum search lacking. I use google by searching with this in the search box:

"site:ubuntuforums.org linguists"

without the quotes.

That will limit google to only searching the forums.
