Hi,
This evening I've been having problems with my search abilities.
Doing a search for "samba" returns no results. I know there are samba threads out there. I've attached a screenshot. Let me know what other information I can give you. The search was performed around 6:45PM Eastern on a Fedora Core 6 machine.

I got the same result.

If, however, I searched for samba in the title instead of entire posts, I got some results. I also got results from a Google search of the forums.

Oh. It works now. What did you do to get it to work?

Hi please try again :)

I actually was. I tried it 3 times before the screenshot and 3 times before using the screenshot to post. I even played with the terms to see if it was syntax or spelling.

It seems to be working now, just wanted to see if anyone else was having a problem with it.

Thanks! I'd be lost without these forums. Well...more lost. The 90 degree learning curve is steep, but these forums help tremendously.

I am having the same problem, but it is now December 2007.

I just did a search on "Unable to start the settings manager," which yielded no results. Doing a Google search yielded forum results, which clearly shows something is wrong with this message board's search function/feature.

I also know for a fact there was a particular thread created by someone a long while back, and when I did a search with terms from that thread, I wasn't able to locate the thread. It was a Ron Paul thread in the Backyard.

The first search didn't work because the new search engine (which is definitely better than the old one) won't take words of fewer than three letters (i.e, "to" wasn't found, so you got zero hits).

The second is because, I believe, Backyard threads aren't included in search results.

Yeah, Google is better, but the UF search function has certainly improved.
