Hello team,

I am not a novice when it comes to the linux OS, however it has only been a few months I have started to used Ubuntu.
I am trying to install my first Ubuntu file server, and I am experiencing some difficulty. The distro will not recognize the cd-rom drive that I have installed.I have swapped and tried an Acer, Benq, toshiba, 2 different models of Sony.......... and still the OS was not able to detect the Cd-rom drive.
I have also downloaded another version of the Ubuntu server......just to be sure...... and still have that same problem.
At that particular screen, the OS ask if you want to load the drivers from a floppy....

My question is: where can i download these driver they are asking about? Or is there another solution to this problem

Thanx

The drivers usually come with the CD drives. You could try looking in the support section of the manufacturers' websites.

Since you have tried 5 CD drives, I have a suspicion there are other problems. Are you sure the drives are connected properly/are not broken?
