I am so close to reformating my machine to xp! I started using Ubuntu with the noblest of intentions. I'm running edgy eft on a Dell Latitude C810 laptop, and I know that I'm not using a great machine. All I want to do is use this laptop for web browsing, listening to music, and most importantly, playing nes games like ff1 through an emulator. Will someone please convince me to keep this config. Because when ever I try to run an emulator it either takes forever to load, if at all. Or the rom loads in an extremely small window. Can someone please recommend an emulator that is easy to use for linux and that at least loads in a window through gnome in 480x680 or somewhat near there. Because if ubuntu can't do this, is there a linux distro that works better for this? I hate XP, but I know if i load it up, i won't have any issues. Please convince me I'm wrong!

What video card do you have? Have you tried to update the drivers?
