Hackers was on tv last night in the UK and got me thinking about the 'Hollwood' OS where hacking is simple, typing or scrolling text makes blippy noises and all the other nonsense you see on TV sometimes.
Anyway, does anyone know of any plugins, linux distros, linux apps/themes, windows apps...anything that will allow me too to have a Hollywood OS?? Pointless, but would be fun. For 10 minutes. Probably.
Cheers.

where hacking is simpleNot to mention this "hacking" uses a state of the art GUI with which you fly through a 3D representation of code and machine internals.
I think you could achieve some pretty over the top Hollywood-y stuff with Beryl and theme your desktop in the style of the Matrix/Tron/Star Trek. I know there are several Matrix-type themes available, don't know about others.
Or you might get this (http://www.geocities.com/tana100750/) to work with dosbox.

Wait you mean that 8 year old kids can't hack into a system in under 3 seconds and get the bank account details of thousands of clients?

I particularly like when in an "illegal" money transfer you see the computer transferring the money dollar by dollar (with an on-screen counter), as if the money was actually flowing through the cable... :)

My favourite has got to be Richard Pryor in Superman III using the command 'override all security' or something like that...before pulling out a lightpen to do more nefarious deeds. Classic!
