I have just been into the something awful forums, following a digg post, and I noticed that they have altered the way their quoted posts display - I have to say, I prefer that way doing things. This one puts a box around the quote completely, but the something awful forum has just enclosed the quoted text between two lines, top and bottom. Also, the quoted name or id is bold and Italic, and font size is slightly larger than the main text.

Maybe someone could look into this as a possible idea?
They use vBulletin 2.2.9

Another thing - They allow people to title themselves, instead of imposing a status or title, in their profile area.

I do know he has considered and chosen not to allow users to give themselves titles, so that isn't likely to be made possible here.

Has there been any consideration given to the idea of maybe changing the default address for the forums to http://forums.ubuntu.com and providing a re-direct from one to the other?

First point thanks I'll take a look. Second point probably not going to happen. A forums.ubuntu.com link already points here so I dont see any reason to switch it.
