kubuntu 2007-01-20 mostly successful install

I ran into only 1 problem using the latest daily Kubuntu LiveCD on my Dell Dimension 9100.

The usplash screen is blank. That is, from the time I choose "start kubuntu" until X starts, the screen is blank.

I did a regular install and there were no other problems. However, again, shutting down or starting up, the screen is blank when X isn't running.

This is the integrated Intel graphics, P4-2.66, 2.3GB RAM, 40GB HD connected to a standard 17" LCD via VGA.

From what I tried to find, that Dell ships with many vga choices. To help testers, please provide the specific vga card you have. The device manager within kubuntu can also help you in this.

Also please post where you were installing, i.e. a new hard disk or a disk with existing windows or other partitions - in the second case there were some partitioning&formatting bugs.
