RESOLVED: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=372164&highlight=ladbrokes
I have read alot in here regarding poker clients and I am aware of the fact that some poker clients and "no download" versions work with Ubuntu through firefox or through the use of Wine.
I am mainly playing at a specific site (32RedPoker) which is using the Microgaming software but Microgaming "instant play" versions do NOT work with FireFox/Mac/Linux, so I have been trying to make the downloaded version work with Wine.
One thing though, Ladbrokes works with no problems using Wine 0.922 but other Microgaming sites do not work. I am aware of the fact that Ladbrokes is not part of the network that the other Microgaming sites use, but still it is Microgaming software.
So I wonder why Ladbrokes works with no problems at all (with Wine standard setup and NO modifications) when other Microgaming sites do NOT?
I have contacted 32RedPoker about this and I will post info here if they tell me anything relevant. I have also asked for them to start supporting FireFox/Linux in their "instant play" version like Pokerroom and others do.
Setting up 32RedPoker and other Microgaming clients. (Not Ladbrokes because it already works):
I have been getting real close by using the information from the wineHQ link below and it helps, but the lobby runs really slow and the tables do not work properly.
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=6036
NB! The guide in that link should Work with ALL Microgaming sites as they use the same software.
Problems with 32RedPoker (and other Microgaming software):
Lobby problems: very slow so it is almost impossible to chose a table and scroll is impossible.
Table problems: The tables run if I follow the guide in the link above but some things don't.
a) chat does not work
b) betting amounts don't work
c) It seems that these problems could be text/font related, or?
Has anyone solved these issues with a Microgaming client? If so please post some ideas or help.
In fact 32RedPoker is the only software I need to work in Linux before I can skip Windows completely. So any help would be appreciated.
