Hello!

How about installing the smallest OS in your Computer?
E.g. IF You have a 16MHz CPU computer with 20MB Hard Drive...

Then "MenuetOS" is made for you!!!

http://www.menuetos.net/

And the size of the OS is 1,40Mb - you can fit it on 1,44Mb Floppy disk!!!

Thanks.

P.S.> Dear Ubuntu Developers, I am so disappointed that I can't install my Ubuntu v6.10 (Edgy) on the above configuration...
... and I can't understand why other OS makers are performing better than Ubuntu... :lolflag:

This is pretty cool. If you are looking for a smaller Ubuntu, try Fluxbuntu.

I really don't think Ubuntu's goals is to work on the smallest PC. That's DSL's job
I will be giving this a spin though! Thnks for the info!

I find FeaterLinux does a way better job than DamnSmallLinux, I personally use Feather on my USB drive.

If you look at the development log for menuet, you will see it is nearly all written in x86 assembler. Linux, et al. are written in c. Therein lies the difference. Linux devs have traded speed/small size for development speed and productivity. The two OS's have different aims.

I also preferred Feather to DSL (notice the tense). According to DistroWatch, there hasn't been a release since 2005. :(

Cool 8) This is super if you have a really (really really) old box.

Yeah, it's a shame. After I finish my computer science classes though I'm thinking of joining the developer team for Feather, just because it's such an awesome distro.

It deserves a few things;

1~Different versions for different size Pendrives (64MB up to 4GB)
2~More releases with more support for network drivers
3~A more easily customizable Fluxbox
