Hi,
Does anyone know of an open source alternative to Flash that runs natively on Ubuntu.
It doesn't need to be as powerful as Macromedia Flash.
Thanks

An editor or a browser plugin to view flash? I think the flashplayer-mozilla package might be open source, but I'm not sure about that and it doesn't render Flash animations as well as the official one does.
(edit: as hikaricore points out below, it's true that there's basically no Linux flash editor. Nothing prominent, at least.)

I think they mean a media creator like flash but open source.
Currently I don't know of any such software myself, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

There's f4l (flash 4 linux) which is a brazen copy of a slighty out-of-date copy of Macromedia Flash that's buggy as hell and only feature-complete in that it perfectly copies the Flash interface. That's it for now (I believe) although smaller programs and scripts to convert from various formats abound.
