Well....we know Warty Warthog, Hoary Hedgehog, Grumpy Groundhog, and Breezy Badger.
But what comes next?
I think we need to start submitting names for the AFTER next, and after, and after, etc. releases of Ubuntu.
I have in mind things like Proud Packmouse, Capable Capybara (yes that one sucks), or Go Gitem Gopher! (again, mea culpa).
What are your suggestions?

I still want Perky the Penguin (for the forth release to show confidence).

Well I vote for a proper numbering system, so one can tell at a glance which is newer.
Either that or keep them in alphabetical order.
Archie the Aardvark
Brian the Badger
Cyril the Cat
Dave the Dog
Ethel the Elephant
Yeah, they all sound like serious pieces of software... :|

Remember the alliteration part.
It should be Perky Penguin. Not Perky the Penguin.
However, I oppose this name because the Peguin represents Linux as a whole. It should not be used for one release of one Linux distrubution.

We already have a numbering system. Warty Warthog is 4.10 and Hoary Hedgehog is 5.04 and Breezy Badger will be 5.10.
The numbers relate to the date of release. The names are affectionate.

Well it seems like we're going backwards through the alphabet... W, H, B so the next one could be A or starting over again at Z and they've all had adjectives with Y so far... Warty, Hoary, Breezy so...
Arty Aardvark
Zany Zebra or Zippy Zebra

Point taken.
However, gentoo is not recognized by most people as a type of penguin. And even so, it is not penguin in general, just a type of penguin.
I'm not trying to start a holy war, but I think we should proceed in some order of the founders of Ubuntu. They did not start naming their releases on Artic/Antartic birds.
