I wanted to start a thread with a pole and I thought of this:
I have Mixed-handedness.

Please read the description if you are unsure from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handedness.

Left-handed for:
writing
eating

Right-handed for:
darts
billiards
shooting
cutting

I am more interested in mixed-handedness so if you are mixed please give a example as I did.
I think that the hand I use depends on whether i use one eye for targeting for the task.

Yes, but I got the name from wiki and tried to duplicate their categories.
Wow you had this there before I had the pole.

sorry to be a stickler but it's poll. :)

I'm right handed.

I said right-handed, but when it comes to sports, I'm mixed-handed.

Hockey -> left
Golf -> right
Baseball -> bat left, throw right
Curling -> right

Its mostly right, so I said right.
EDIT: And I hardly ever curl, so no jokes about that! It just came to mind.

Mine's a little weird. I'm quite left-handed, but I'm right-eyed; it's called cross-dominance.

The most odd (to me) thing about it is that my eyes don't do the thing where you close one eye and the picture moves a little; when I close and open my left eye, the picture never moves (because my brain isn't really using that image).

It's a bummer in that I have no real depth perception, but the brain has pretty much learned to compensate (although I still get hit in the face with a ball).

On the other hand, since 3d games have pretty much the same depth as real life life to me, I'm decent at those. For some reason, I'm also a pretty good shot, when I shoot targets and "clay pigeons" in real life. Of course, neither of those things is really very useful.... ;)

Pointing out one of my deficiencies, Spelling. I always hated spelling. Thanks though.

I always find it interesting when a person does everything with thier left hand except for eating and writing. I have found that in more than one instance it is a left handed person who was trained at a very young age by a parent or a teacher to eat and write with thier right hand for social or cultural reasons.

By the way I am left handed and that includes eating and writing.

Interesting, but I am almost the opposite of that so I can not blame anyone for it. I think I started shooting guns right handed because of the triangle hole you make with your hands and blink own eye at a time. Anyway, it was just a test to check eye dominance.

I consider myself lefthanded, since I write with my left hand, but with these categories, I chose mixed. I'm better at throwing things, arm wrestling and using scissors with the right hand.

I'm mix-handed.

I'm left-handed for using a pen, a pencil, or a paintbrush. I'm right-handed for everything else.

Ambidextrous, but I mix when I use them and my preferences are the opposite of aysiu's.

Right Handed for Most Stuff

Left-Handed for typing (lol), cell-phone usage and cooking...I do a lot of cooking...

u mean ambidextrous?

i think ambidextrous means being able to do the same action with both, where mix-handedness means doing some actions with one hand and other actions with the other. (larry bird is hugely ambidextrous. he would often walk through a large crowd signing autographs with both hands.)

i'm pretty much right-handed (and left-eye dominant). i write, throw, play golf, play guitar all right-handed. i bat lefty and i carry stuff in my left hand (which may be left over from having broken my right arm on two occassions). i've taught myself how to throw left-handed by throwing balls with each hand, at the same time, over and over, then dropping out the right every other time.

I write left-handed, eat with either although left seems more reflexive, and right-handed for everything else.

Drove me nuts back in grade-school when the teachers would see me writing left-handed so give me left-handed scissors. The ones with shaped grips hurt to use right-handed!

I'm most definitely right-eye dominant... Naturally, it's the one with an astigmatism!

Right-handed but eat left-handed.

I'm also goofy footed when it comes to surfing & skateboarding.

Same as randomnumber, write and eat left handed, I use right hand for anything else. If a new task it will always be righthanded.

I am exactly the same, writing and eating are left handed but most other activities seem to be right.

As someone has already said I was brought up right handed, but I am left, for example I can't write straight right-handed (although left isn't much better).
This however was not a fault on my parents part, I was undecided until a late age, constantly swapping which hand I used.

The guy probably does not have a left hand, I see no humour in that.

I accidentally voted left while I meant to say mixed, sorry about that. :)

Definitely left-handed at:

writing (I remember I had a real hard time learning to write properly as a kid)
bowling
smoking (well, used to be)
tennis
pool/snooker
brushing my teeth
spanking the monkey

Right-handed:

eating (that is: fork left, knife right)
drinking
baseball
basketball
darts
golf
guitar (went to a classical academy)
using a computer mouse or the TV remote
wiping my behind :-#

Some other stuff is pretty random e.g. I use a tire iron right-handed but drill and saw left-handed. I also seem to be right-footed at football (or "soccer", for North Americans).

Left handed, but after I started working with Databases and logical programming (from an illogical person?!?!) I've noticed the difference between my left and right hands shrinking in some uses.

Fencing (w/sword), though, I actually can do with either hand alright (as opposed to suck with both ;) ), which makes me think of "The Princess Bride". I'm actually tempted to go to a competition and start off right-handed and finish left-handed (or alternate with each opponent) just to see if that helps!

well, i'm right handed but i'm left eye dominant. what does that say? i thought that the connections cross over at one's neck, so its probably quite likely that a right handed person is left eye dominant.

Mixed, I write with my left hand.
Shooting(soccer), tenis and a few more with right hand,
billiard with left again.
Operating my mouse: slightly more comfortable with my right hand.
Sawing I can do with both hands, if one gets tired I switch to the other.

Sometimes if I learn something new I can decide which hand I'm gona use for it.

How can there be so many left handed people?? I thought only about 10 percent of the populus is left handed, like me? I have also read that left handies are 'more creative/smarter' so there might be more left handed geeks.....? :-)

I'm a sinistra, but I can play most sports either.
cricket - bowl either, bat only right
football - use both feet, was a left winger though.
darts - equally as bad,
I used to play hockey when I was younger but then I realised it was wrong.
Don't start me on musical instruments though, nearly all are designed for non-left-handed people.
I have set up my Ubuntu to use my mouse left handed, which really annoys anyone else who uses my computer.
The Latin word for left-handed also means evil, because left-handed people were considered evil.

So I guess I am forced to be a mixed-handed person.

i thought that the percentage was considerably less than that.
many people suspect that the reason why left handers are assumed to be smarter is merely to do with the lesser numbers being averaged out in random samples.
