I'm looking for a small app, an eye dropper, that shows the color codes and such. know of one?

3 years later and it's exactly what I wanted too. thanks.
If you can't get ColorZilla to work with Firefox on x86_64, gcolor2 is perfect.

just what I needed too... being as colorzilla isn't supported for some reason.

Exactly what I was looking for as well, also wanted to bump to say that this can be found right in the Ubuntu Software Center, for those who can't be bothered to open a terminal.

..and if you want something between that and Gcolor2, then try Agave (http://home.gna.org/colorscheme/).
