Okay, what happened to to the original name of the 5.10 version of Ubuntu? Wasn't is going to be called the "Grumpy Groundog" initially? When did it get changed to "Breezy Badger?" (Not that I mind, BB is better than GG)
Am I just imagining things or was 5.10 really initially planned to be called the "Grumpy Groundog?"
Greets,

"The Grumpy Groundhog Project aims to produce an "Ubuntu-derived" distribution containing a crack-of-the-day set of packages. This distribution will never actually be released, instead it will be in a state of perpetual development, representing the very cutting edge of upstream and distro packaging."

Grumpy is just the name for the repos with unstable packages that's meant for testing. It's basically Ubuntu's equivalent to Sid in Debian.
Edit: Xian actually has the more accurate answer, just ignore this post. :-\"

I do not, however, have a clue as to what Launchpad OneDotZero (http://udu.wiki.ubuntu.com/LaunchpadOneDotZero) might be. :-k

You're right though-- it WAS going to be called grumpy, IIRC, but it got bumped to the always-unstable branch (which makes sense, grumpy implies an unwillingness to cooperate).

I don't think that Grumpy is for mainstream  I'm still too noobie to tackle the ground dog.

Oh, I don't know.....ground dog makes pretty tasty tacos!
Sorry, I know it was just a typo, but I couldn't resist.

I don't think grumpy is up yet, so changing your sources to grumpy woult just give you errors.

I'm glad they moved from Grumpy. It was not a friendly name. Breezy will be the best so far...

Come to think of it, "Warty Warthog" and "Hoary Hedgehog" are also pretty bad.. Who came up with these names?

Grumpy is too negative sounding for a formal release anyway. Breezy is better. I think ubuntu's unstable "sid" should be called Malicious Monkey (like Sid Vicious, get it? ;-) ) Don't play with the monkey! [-X
