View Full Version : Counter Strike and Point 2 Play

ok well i have point 2 play and i got my accoutn just set up and i have Steam Installed and i changed some of the stuff in the config for my video card...now...i go to try to use it and when i click the play button it just goes down for al ittle while and then it doesn't do anything....now i just got my account but i was on a friends account and it worked for a little while but i had no sound...now i just ordered a new sound card which might be the problem why it doesn't work or start but i was wondering what might be the problem...

ok well i go and i have redone my computer to just have linux on my computer...ok well i installed point2play then installed counter strike...updated ubuntu...and well then i restarted my computer...when i come back my point2play works but i still can't get my counter strike to work...but i did change stuff on it but it still played before i restarted...i wanted to know whats up...i didn't have sound but i'm sure thats because of my sound card being onboard...also...is there anyway i can get my fps past 99 and well keep it at a good rate...in windows i had an fps of 199

ok well i did that but still no sound...i got cs to work though...just think i need a good sound card that supports full or multiy duplex...something like that

but hey thanks...i get the new sound card soon so its cool

a bit out of topic/
hows ure fps in ubuntu ? tried installing using cedega 4.3 but the fps sux.. i guess some ppl dont mind but i kinda mind if my fps drops from 99 to 50.. cant even peg it at 70 and im using an nvidia 6600gt which is suppose to be able to run cs while sleeping. heh. is it suppose to be like that or am i missing some settings that need to be done ?
