Open source "cedega" ? It's called Wine.

I think those games work in regular wine. At least WoW, which i've played a lot using wine and it works well :)
WoW is currently broken with the latest version of wine (without patches) tho, so get the tarball of 0419 and get these patches and apply them:

http://bugs.winehq.com/attachment.cgi?id=848&action=view
in that order. well, that works for me

Wine should play blizzard games well enough.

Cedega is not OSS as they have to hack DirectX with the help of companies that have some code. The CVS build is what i have though i admit i have never used it. But i remember hearing that the offically supported Cedega is NOT OSS

The cvs build is not free software either, it is under a pretty restrictive license.

I use Cedega for (windows) games and it works well. The CVS version only contains a part of the 'real' Cedega, what you get when you buy it. When you buy it, you also get Point2Play (a very nice GUI). So you see, that Cedega isn't OSS, but I am willing to pay for it. They spend a lot of time reverse-engineering DirectX and I want to show my support. A subscription only costs 5 euro a month, and even I can and am willing to pay that (I'm a student)
For Applications you need Wine. I'm installing it as we speak :)

I use Crossover Office 4.2 Pro for applications and Cedega for Steam games. All good ^_^
