Browsing KDE-Apps (http://www.kde-apps.org) I found this new Awsome application called Kubuntu Package Menu, wich allows Kubuntu users (new KDE user over here :D) to install a .deb file by just right clicking and selecting Install package! It even removes packages!

This application will probably reduce my terminal window usage by a minimum of 20% !

Gnome being the main Ubuntu display manager, it needs something like this. This solves newcomer's problems by 3/4. It's quite complicated for anyone to start using the terminal, specially when they don't know it has [TAB] completion :-s.

It would seem to me that there should be a way to add a similar function as a script to nautilus, maybe something that would open a terminal and run the dpkg command... chances are good that even if there is I won't be able to figure it out but i'll play with it a little

I am actually using this feature and I really think that best ideas are always the simplest!!!

Thanks for the kind words! But, we need to get it into a repository, because as of yet, you have to actually install it using the command line. Doh! My whole purpose was to eliminate the need for the CLI...

Hopefully the backports devels are listening...
