The only good mmorpg is a dead mmorpg.

Seriously though, all the mmorpgs have some pretty glaring problems right now imo. I just sold my wow account because the pvp and class balance is weak and its just not worth the money for a game that doesnt deliver. Guildwars has great pvp and no monthly fee, but the PvE side is not as immersive, although at least they dont overpromise and underdeliver on that side. Vangaurd is coming out, but its being published by Sony and Sony hates gamers. Warhammer Online is a long way off. Eve online is cool but maybe a little too different for me.

You can surf around and try stuff out but I dont think there actually is an MMO out there worth the time/money right now, and I've spent ridiculous ammounts of time and money on various ones in the past.

Just a question..
You rate online games as boring? but mmo's are online, even says so in the name Massive Multiplayer ONLINE

Second of, balance in MMO's allways takes a long time and WoW is actually not that bad because everyone almost feels as all the other guys got the perks ^^ but as with most MMO's the game gets updates, changes ect. all the time so that is to be expected.

MMO's are never worth the time, it's a timespender simple as that just hope you enjoy it while you play

WoW you can test for 10days for free and alot of MMO's have that from time to time :) so just try away on everything you can get your hands on

Installs via Cedega really easily, & people run it via Wine too.

There is a english version. All you have to do is to download the Linux launcher and from there go to options and change it to "ingles", then just quit the launcher and start again and the game will be in English :-D

I have this game (Regnum) working flawlessly on Edgy (sound and all) and I think it's the smoothest mmorpg for linux EVER. Not that there were ever very many. I still cant believe it's not running under some emulation software...wow a native game of my favorite type...:-D

It works pretty good with me too...except for the sound. I can hear the sound, but it seems to be very scrambled for me(I did install that openAL necessity btw).

Are you on Edgy? I used this command in Dapper, and it didn't work...but when I did a clean install, automatix, beryl then installed Regnum, then I used:

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libopenal.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libopenal.so

And it works very well.

i say Ultima Online is the best.. well not graphic wise but gameplay and group/clan dynamics, Its like MUD meets Diablo2.. i mean Mud? and Diablo2? what else could u ask for! lol

UO is my first mmorpg and ive tried ALOT of others but i just couldnt compare them to UO's lvl.

i believe there are still some UO private servers out there, please pm me the link if you kno one.

and does UO run good on Wine?
