They are so cute and adorable! Just this morning I had to say my wife a very firm "NO" to her urge of getting one of them (unfortunately). We already have four charming cottontails and I certainly think they are quite enough.

OOOh, my housemate wants a ferret.

I reckon a hedgehog would be cooler.
Can you seriously keep them as pets? What do they eat?

Sure you can. They are so called african hedgehogs and are quite small in size compared to the "normal" hedgehogs. They eat worms, maggots, grasshoppers, boiled broiler, cat food...

They area active during night and can run like 10 miles in a running wheel during the night.
