Can I install from just CD 1?

I downloaded the first cd, is is possible for me to boot fedora 6 from it and download teh packages i want, or at least just get a desktop without anything special running on it? thanks!

I'm no expert but i think the other cd's only contain extra packages

Yeah i think the cd's do just contain extra packages but i'm not sure if they are needed in the install or not. I guess the best way to find out is just try it.

If I'm not mistaken you need the first two CD's. It says which are required somewhere on the site.
