i just installed linux for the very first time and i need some help.
i've read the unofficial ubuntu starter guide and searched the forums but everything i try just doesn't work.

firstly i need to install my isdn modem (64kb/s) .. i can't do it.
i've looked everywhere and can't find anything to install the drivers.
i've plugged the modem into the usb port and the light is on but nothing comes up. how will i install my isdn modem? i've tried the identify modem chipsets and that doesn't work and i've tried install modem driver (smartlink) both from unofficial guide but nothing. seems i need to be connected to the net to do this.
please help.

also i'm trying to install frozen bubble. the unofficial guide says what i type into the terminal. the first two things work after i hit enter but then it gives an error can't find package or something.

i've installed the latest ubuntu and looked everywhere for answers.

please help thanx

I'm afraid that setting up an isdn connection is difficult.

You can look here: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/historic-linux/distributions/redhat/4.2/i386/live/usr/doc/HTML/ldp/Module-HOWTO-8.html

And if you have the kernel-source package installed, here: /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.7/drivers/isdn
