Some banking sites, etc, say that you should close your browser as a securuity measure. First of all is this really necessary? Secondly, if it is, is closing the tab the same as closing down the browser. Thanks.

Remember those meassures are taken because people are using IE to do online banking
They want you to close the browser so nobody else can just sit down and go back and get into your bank system. Other times is for cookies to expire.
I will think closing a tab is just like closing an open window, but the browser is still working, you havent really close it down

It's probably just as safe to keep browsing for five minutes. That way, your bank login will have expired.

Also if your using firefox you can just hit Tools> Clear Private Data.:cool:
