I have a nokia 7230 andhave almost lost my mind trying to get it to talk to my computer. I got bluetooth working but PIM synchronisation is the thing I want. Specfically I want to synchronize my contacts and organiser.
Anyone out there have a cell phone that worked straight away with Ubuntu? I have decided to give up on my nokia and buy one that actually works with linux. I don't care whether its best with KDE or gnome. THis is such a big issue with me, that I would even be prepared to drop everything and go back to Windows XP. At least things work out of the box with XP (most of the time).

You could try multisync with evolution...

My phone isn't Bluetooth-enabled. I imagine I have to buy some special cord for it or something, but I don't want to do so unless I'm reasonably sure it won't be a waste of money. I am interested to see if there is any Linux software to synchronize one's phone. Mine's a Samsung VI660 (http://www1.sprintpcs.com/explore/PhonesAccessories/PhoneDetails.jsp?navLocator=%7Cshop%7CphonesAccess ories%7CvisionPhones%7C&selectSkuId=samsungvi660&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1476261&CURRENT_USER%3C%3EATR_SCID=ECOMM&CURRENT_USER%3C%3EATR_PCode=None&CURRENT_USER%3C%3EATR_cartState=group&bmUID=1115073743169).

I can't use multisync with evolution because my phone doesn't support the irmc prototcoll. Sadly.
