I thought I'd give it a try as well.

Edit: I moved the new version up here, since this is what most people will be seeing. The SVG is posted further down this thread.

Thanks! Afraid I didnt enter the competition at all. I came a bit late, and was merely looking for an excuse to learn inkscape. Guess it wouldnt have won the popular vote anyway ;)

Thats exactly right! I was waiting for someone to notice ;)

It was the first and best example I could find, and I really liked that pose. Never seen a badger in real life myself, so I used roughly the same proportions.

Now I have changed his pose, cleaned him up a bit, and added some color. How about this one?

to be honest, I prefered the absolute first one most, but maybe thats just me...
now it looks like hes slightly pinkish, and is choking on something, due to his unnatural head position...
as I said, maybe this is just me....

cheers, n.

That looks great! Why don't you put the circles around the ubuntu circle around your badger?

I think it's perfect, could you make a 90 x 90 for users to use as avatars here? I'm sure this would be used by almost every Badger user.

since you are already using one, I'll assume you scaled it down, so I resized it in inkscape, increased the font size and exported to png for ya.

Thanks for all the positive comments so far! ;)

I tried that at first, but they were a bit too large. It might be suitable for a wallpaper though, but not as a thumbnail. I guess I can put up some variations later on.

As someone requested, here is one with the ubuntu-circles on it. Including a smaller avatar this time.

I think it looks great. I like how the head comes out of the circle and is not confined by it.
