Hello Ubuntu Forums,
I'm a long-time Windows (XP Professional) user who has just recently become interested in hosting Web servers (IRC, HTTP, MySQL, Subversion, etc) and was doing it on Windows for several months until I ran into several issues. I installed Ubuntu 6.10 (desktop) to dual-boot with Windows XP (on my larger partition) so that I could run more stable servers. The only thing that is keeping me from using Ubuntu 99.9% of the time is Space Empires V. When I'm running Web servers, I can't be changing OSes every time I want to play a game. So, my question is, is it possible to run Space Empires V on Ubuntu, and if it is, how?

P.S.: I'm new to UNIX, in a way. I've never used a UNIX-like operating system (other than FreeBSD when I was using it to host my servers on an old PC yesterday...ran out of hard disk space on the old machine and can't upgrade) full-time before, only in Virtual PC.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremiah Griffin

Id like to know this too :) Im trying to get Ubuntu installed now and Im also a Space Empires fan. Ive seen threads from here how ppl got Space Empires 4 working. I hope SE5 can be runable in Ubuntu too :)

EDIT: http://www.spaceempires5.com/en-US/node/1051 check that thread. Seems like SE5 wont work in Cedega even :/

I hope that I can play SE5 in Ubuntu some day :(
