Hi folks,
I followed the steps to install Beryl/AIGLX with an nvidia card on Edgy-Eft here:

http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy#How_to_install_Beryl.2FAIGLX_.28Nvidia .29

After following all the steps, the last one (running beryl-manager) doesn't work because apparently beryl-manager doesn't exist at all.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this might be?

Thanks in advance,
Feck.

SOlution:

Instead of following the Ubuntuguide Beryl installation, I used the one on Beryl's website:

http://www.beryl-project.org

Their installation guide basically consists of creating an installation script, and then running that installation script, and then Beryl just seems to work immediately after.

Then all you have to do after that is tweak around and make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.

Sorry for the delay in replying!

Cheers,
Feck

I used the Envy script for my nvidia drivers and then Beryl's instructions. Worked perfect on Edgy.

Hi there!

I have also a problem with Beryl and my Ubuntu Feisty 7.04.
I installed it without any problem but when I login in my account the only thing that works is the rotation of Desktops and the rotation of the Cube.
My problem is that all the other functions of Ubuntu do not work. I cannot open menus or any other application. Even if I manage to open a terminal window it comes minimized and I can not maximize it. The only thing I can see is a Preview of the opened window when I hover over the minimized title bar.

I would appreciate any help.
