like i said, i'm a beginner to ubuntu(kind of debian)
i'd like to know about ubuntu's history and everything
tomorrow i will check my TV card out and i will have mainly distro OS if that's work well
recently using winXp as first OS ,fedora 3 and ubuntu i've installed a couple of days ago
i've used serveral linuxs such as mandrake, haansoftlinux, hamcom, fedora and ubuntu
cuz i like the fedora interface(fedora 4 is similar with ubuntu)
reason i liked this is one CD to install but fedora needs 4 CD's to install
2nd of all, free other to get original CD(i mean that's not CD burned)
im just wondering if ubuntu has sponsored by someone or companies?
and ubuntu is the place in germany?

Ubuntu's first version, Warty Warthog 4.10, was released in October of last year. The project is sponsored by Canonical, Ltd. "Ubuntu" is not a place in Germany, it's an African word meaning "humanity to others." All this info is available by clicking "About Ubuntu" from the front page.

Goto www.ubuntulinux.com. Background on company is listed there. Also of note, I believe the 1st official release was Warty in October, 2004. The company as I believe was based out of Africa, as is the whole philosophy behind Ubuntu. Germany, is actually where Suse is based I believe. If I'm wrong, then Google it! Welcome.
