Hello,
I realy like Deluge - fast & easy - And written in Python + PyGTK. I'm learning Python and it helps me a lot :)
I have a question: Is there a way to get python-libtorrent work under windows? (compile as .dll or so...) If this is possible you are also able to package Deluge for Windows. Of corse, Windows sucks but it can help getting more Deluge-Users
PS: Sorry for my bad english, I'm german :-k
Bye,

I've mused with the idea of Windows and Mac builds, and may give the mac build a shot... but I don't have any Win32 PC's at the moment. Once I get my new laptop, I may use the recovery CD's to install XPP in VMware and give this a go

If you need help with building Deluge on Win32 I can package it with py2exe & InnoSetup/NSIS - I have a WindowsXP in a VM. But I'm unable to write anything in C++, so I can't help you with python-libtorrent ;)
EDIT: Or it's possible to simply install a C++ Compiler on Windows and uses distutils (setup.py) to compile python-libtorrent under windows? (I don't know if something like this is possible for Python-C-Modules)

I just set up XP under vmware-server, and began to play around with building this. I'm having trouble getting the compiler and all the necessary libraries working under windows. I installed Windows Powershell, hoping it would provide some more *NIX like functionality, but it wasn't much help, and now I'm trying out MinGW and Cygwin, but any additional help/suggestions would be helpful.

Hm sorry but I never tryed to use something like cygwin under windows...
I have to try all by myself and I think you have more experiences with compiling in general. I'm unable to write a hello world script in C/C++/C.net ;)
I can help with the python frontend but not realy with python-libtorrent.
PS: What's the language the Python-Module is written in?
