mac+illegal?

Hello i have read somewhere that installing windows or some other os like linux is illegal on a mac computer or vice versa? :-k

Not true although if you do replace OS X with Linux and proceed to take your hardware to a Mac shop the fanboys running the place will be up in arms. ;)

ok i know they said it on the mac webpage that they dont take responsebillity if someone installs another os on mac... But i think someone said something about illeagal? So its not true? :-k

It might be illegal to install OS X on a PC, but installing other operating systems on a Mac is certainly legal, and even encouraged by Apple (as said above, they made a special program to enable this feature.)

If you read the Mac OS X user license agreement (http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/macosx104.pdf), you'll see that you are licensed to install it on only Apple computers.

So if your country honors both parties adhering to license agreements, then, yes, it is illegal to install Mac OS X on a non-Apple computer.
