Quake 4 sound

I installed quake4, graphics go perfect, but sound is unestable. It is not a clear and continuous sound (sorry or the tipo). It sounds bumpy, like a periodic sound. I have alsa configured (www.ubuntuguide.org). Any idea ??????????

Try starting it like this quake4 +set s_driver oss
