in all reality though, no, not that i know of. I know if you buy cd's from some sites, that company may offer free shipping, but not free cd's.

Well, I'd suggest a letter to the marketing dept of the other distros. an Ubuntu forum isn't exactly the place to complain that other distros don't ship for free ;) Just be glad that Canonical ships Ubuntu for free! :)

Unlikely. The production of the CD's, the package it comes in and the free shipping worldwide must cost Mark Shuttleworth a pretty penny. He is a rich venture capitalist who has lots of money ... enough to just blow away on a space trip!

Most other distributions are either fundless or are supported by donations ... most do not have the money to master 2 CD's and ship them worldwide to anyone who wants them ... and multiple CD's per person may I add.

Answer is no .... unless there is another Shuttleworth who is going to spend their own money to do that kind of advertising there may not be another distro that ships like this. The commercial distros sell their distro commercially ... if they do provide free for personal use copies, they will not pay out of their corporate budget for your CD's
