vega strike

i have installed vega strike from synaptic. when i start the game it freezes when generic.png is loading and my computer just sits there. i have to reset the computer so i can log in again. this is my first attempt to install a relatively large game. any help would be appreciated.]

Did everything work out with vega strike? I can get the game started, but it tends to crash the system when I exit. If you're still having problems, what kind of system are you running it on?

I didnt get the game going. The problem I have is a very old ATI video card that I cant turn on direct rendering so the 3-d wont work. Also the card has a very small amount of memory on it. I am currently putting together a 64 bit system with more speed/ram and better video card so will try it on that. Good luck on finding a fix
