Okay. I have successfully installed the game from source. I am using Ubuntu 6.1.

Here's my error when I run the game in the terminal.

Could not initialize SDL Video subsystem: No available video device.

Any error or suspicious output when you compiled it?
Any reason why you didn't installed it via synaptic/apt-get/aptitude?

Nope.

Because for me that's boring. I like compiling from source. Gives me something to do and has somewhat of a challenge to it.
