DansGuardian Question

First of all I love this distro. It gives me all of features out of the box that I have tried to install manually on other distros. I have one question though. On my other distros my internet connection is definitely faster when fetching a web page when compared to ubuntu ce. Is this because of DansGuardian and the proxy? If so, what can I do to speed it up? Thanx

Thank you for your kind words. I am glad that you like Ubuntu CE.

To answer your question, probably. The filtering does slow things down a bit. I have found that when I first install Ubuntu CE the internet is noticeably slower. Then after a while it seems to get better. Now this is either due to my firefox cache or maybe I have just gotten used to the speed. I am not sure how to speed it up, however. There are others here who know a lot more about the proxy settings and hopefully will have a better answer than me. :)
