[Feature Request] change name plugin

i ask this because i have seen one big torrent site who have start blocking al kind of clients including this one .

so i ask for an plugin or button with a possibility to change the name to an another client.

i'am afraid this is not the last BT site which will start this action ....

i'am afraid this is not the last BT site which will start this action ....Just curious, but why is this site (or better: tracker) blocking Deluge? Ask them and they hopefully reply with a helpful answer. It could be that Deluge needs a feature, and that should be implemented before they unblock Deluge.

A feature request could be placed here or at Deluge's ticket page (http://deluge.ath.cx/query); that approach is imho better then constantly avoiding this tracker problem ;)
If one tracker is blocking Deluge for some reasons, another tracker will do the same. But are you sure it's another problem than this one (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=297500) where you posted almost the same question?

they created an whitelist of versions which are allowed , they are in power so nothing the nix users can do at the moment.

are allowed at the moment, a lot of nix users having problems because the headless clients are banned also , rtorrent and deluge are banned also .

for the moment i believe the "list" is not complete so some nix versions will be allowed , dunno if DeLuge is one of them .

The reason : it seems there are some bad windows aplications that give major probs to the tracker server , i know and believe that the libtorrent library is a good and nice neighbour , but this action was done with a sharp knife and fast .

dont think they ever thought about the linux en mac clients , so we created a topic for nix users probaly things will work out for us .

but changing the name or advertised name would be nice option .

Making it easy to change the name is very dangerous, since they may see this as abuse. They can find some other way to ban clients they don't want, and we would be in more trouble than before.

So, the goal should be to find out how to get on their whitelist, I think.
