is it possible to change the name of an svn client ?
looks like my favo torrent site is gonna block beta versions.
the name is now : Deluge 0.3+SVN would like to see it without svn if possible

As a partial solution, look at delugecommon.py, line 48. You can remove the "+SVN" part there if you want. However, every time you do an update from SVN, this will be overwritten, so you'll need to keep changing it.

it looks like i need a whole new name , whatever i tried i keep advertising my name with DeLuge .
it is not only me al nix clients with consolle based libtorrent clients seems to be blocked so we have to fake our identity i think.
replacing that line with a new name still make me advertizing with DeLuge and a new naam , so i guess we need a plugin to change our name once and a while when needed....and i have to change more then that line before any tracker believe that iam an azaues or utorrent client..
sad to do this ..........

Look at deluge.py line 383. You can change how the client reports itself to whatever you want. Paremeters are: two-byte client code ("DE" for Deluge; you can google to find the codes for other clients), then 4 version numbers (03.00, currently in Deluge), finally a string description.

thank you after some thinking i decided not to do this , the critics about this methode of blocking from the unix community is big enough . i think the libtorrent will be allowed .
wel libtorrent is not the name advertised so i hope if they allow rtorrent DeLuge is allowed to

Deluge isn't very well known yet, so I'd try emailing them and request that Deluge be allowed. (On a somewhat off-topic note, it'll be interesting to see how long it takes other client to add us to their peer-identification code, I was thinking of grepping through the source of the new Azureus release [2.5.0.1])
And if there's anything that they object to in Deluge, have them tell/email/whatever us and if we can, we'll fix whatever it is.
