Quick question about the ati drivers for hoary.

On warty I supposedly installed the ati drivers, the ones described in the beginners guide (fglrx, iirc), but when I played tux racer the graphics were very laggy. Now I am no expert, but I would think that a 9700pro would be able to handle tux racer. So, are the drivers just terrible, or did I just do something incorrectly? I am just wondering whether or not I should try the drivers for hoary. Thanks.

First of, follow the instruction on www.ubuntu.com/wiki/BinaryDriverHowTo
I suspect you have an nforce2 board, in which case you need to read down about adding a line to the device section.
