status of thunderbird

is there any word on what mozilla is doing with there thunderbird email client regarding the next release?

don't know what mozilla is doing but i did read somewhere Eudora was planning to do something on top of thunderbird, using it as a base which is interesting.

hopefully this translates to more features added to thunderbird.

so are they going to merge eudora into thunderbird?, or is it going to be its own product?
