Hey there,

I am using Dapper currently because it has the nvidia driver settings that allow me to turn on the antialiasing in games.

I've tried using the snazzy Beryl/Compiz themes but they disable normal OpenGL in Dapper and then the nvidia antialiasing doesn't work. So I have had to chose a more boring desktop that doesn't spin around in snazzy style.

I'm thinking about upgrading to Edgy, but I'm concerned that the antialiasing part of the nvidia drivers will be gone again. Can someone who's using Edgy fill me in on whether this is the case?

Thanks!

If you use the Beta drivers you are fine. Look HERE (http://wiki.beryl-project.org/index.php/Install/Ubuntu/Edgy/nVIDIA).

Youll even be able to run AA on Beryl. ;)

Thanks!! I'm so glad to hear this - are the beta drivers pretty stable?

Id say 98%. I get some weirdness on game menus. (menus only, some artifacting) Aside from that I have no trouble on the desktop or actually playing games.

Also since you don't need a separate X server for Beryl with Edgy, you can just disable it and switch to Metacity temporarily if you have any problems with games.
