What do you have in /etc/apt/sources.list?

Do you have lines like these:
deb http://backports.ubuntuforums.org/backports hoary-backports main universe multiverse restricted
deb http://backports.ubuntuforums.org/backports hoary-extras main universe multiverse restricted


Comment out the lines with CD put # character in front of them.

for the cd no problem, I understand that if is not inside can't recornize it! what I'm asking is why the reposity of the starter guide give me that error

same for me here. I guess they have some problems there. I'm sure it will be fixed ASAP.
it's not that he put stuff in the guide that doesn't work. It worked until today. I'm sure it will work some days later. Or there will be an update if something has to be changed.

the only thing that was needed for the guide in backports is jre...

if this prob doesn't get solved soon, i'm going to remove it and change the instructions on how to install java manually

i did a test on apt-get update yesterday... and seems fine... but it's down again :(
