View Full Version : Could the menu bar be dropped for a cleaner look?

I noticed that the File menu duplicates the toolbar, and that the Edit menu only has the preferences dialog in it. Maybe the menu bar could go, and the preferences and plugins and such could be a button opening a dialog (with tabs if necessary).
A trivial change, but it might make things look pretty sleek.

i think if the deluge devs want to integrate into an existing gtk2 environment such as gnome or xfce or just look like any other gtk apps, then the menubar should stay.
i've used transmission for some time before i found deluge. transmission does not have a menubar because it is mainly written for mac os x and i always found that transmission looked not very integrated because it felt weird not having the menubar.
the only other program i know about that lets you disable the menubar is xchat and terminal emulators.

if the menubar should be removed, i think this should be at least an option and not be the default setting.

perhaps an option or plugin, but I doubt this will become the default behavior. in fact, there'd be a better chance of me removing the toolbar before the menu bar.
