Closing TCP connections & IP filtering

Is it possible using Firefox on the new 6.10 to close connections to port 80? What I would really like to do is find an IP filter app that is manually configurable, so I can control what IP's connect to my m/c via port 80. Any ideas would be appreciated.

i believe iptables does this which is installed in ubuntu by default. if you want a gui for it, you can install firestarter to create rules and such.
